The Webelos handbook tells you all about the great adventures you will experience as a Webelos scout. This handbook is the resource
for obtaining your Webelos Badge and Arrow of Light. If you are new to scouting, the first step in your first year
of Webelos is to achieve your Bobcat Badge. Once you have achieved your Bobcat you are ready to start working on your
Webelos activity badges. In your first year of Webelos, you will focus on earning your Webelos Badge. There are a
total of 20 activity badges within 4 groups that you can choosse from to help you earn the Webelos badge. After
you have earned your Webelos badge you are ready to start working on your Arrow of Light, the highest cub scouting award!
To recoginize the Webelos hard work, the Compass Points Emblem is awarded after you have earned the Webelos Badge and four additional
activity badges, for a total of seven. After you receive the Emblem, you will add a metal "Compass Point" to it for each additional
four activity badges you earn. The Emblem hangs from the button on your right shirt pocket.
The Arrow of LIght Award is the highest rank in Cub Scouting. The Cub Scout will have to earn the Webelos Badge
and at least eight activity badges, including Citizen, Readyman and Fitness. The total must include one from each of the five activity
groups.
By the time a Webelos scout has earned the Arrow of Light Award, he will have learned many things about a lot of
subjects - and a lot about Boy Scouting. He will be ready to join a Boy Scout troop!

Here’s another opportunity to explore new topics and learn new skills.As part of the Cub Scout Academics and Sports Program,
you can earn belt loops and pins to be worn on your uniform.To earn a belt loop, you simply complete three tasks related to
a particular area, like Baseball or Geography.Complete five more tasks in that same area, and you will earn a pin.Do
you play soccer?Have you ever gone bowling?Do you play a musical instrument?You already may have earned an award
